Monaco has a wide range of hotels and, though many are in the luxury class there are still some in the medium and budget range if you are prepared to hunt around and stay a little way outside the centre. Whatever your pocket you are advised to book early.

Monaco budget hotels and hostels
There is little on offer in Monaco for youth hostel backbackers or in the way of budget accommodation but good deals are around. The Hotel le Versailles is popular, with rooms from €70, situated near the stadium and the rail station a few minute from the beach. You could try the Alexandra - prices are from around €120 or there's the Hotel de France, near to the train station and decorated in Provencal style. Expect to pay around €80.
Many on a budget break stay in nearby Nice or Menton. Any of the resorts along the coast offer rapid transfers to Monaco by train. Nice, with a massive selection of hotels and apartments, is only 15 minutes away, while Menton to the east, on the Italian border, is even closer and offers a good range of accommodation. Alternatively stay over the border inland in France where there is an even wider choice.
